FIELD NOTES

From the outpost

The local cipher lab implements the Alien Language 2 arithmetic described in the supplied project notes. Letters use positions A=0 through Z=25. Each encoded value adds the previous encoded value, wrapping at 26. Decoding subtracts the previous encoded value.

Spaces, punctuation and digits pass through without resetting the running state. The lab displays A–Z as a transcription of symbol positions; it does not include an official glyph font or image recognition.

Try encoding TFP. The letter transcription is TYN, corresponding to positions 19, 24 and 13. Decode TYN to recover TFP. This is a fan puzzle, not a method for securing private messages.
